Help shape the next generation of healthcare professionals! 🧡

NCCC’s Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Program in Ottawa is looking for community members to serve as Simulated Patients and help students gain valuable hands-on experience as they prepare for careers in healthcare.

You’ll help students practice communication and professionalism, client interaction, and foundational clinical skills in a supportive learning environment.

✔ Participate just once per semester
✔ Sessions last 1–2 hours
✔ Small stipend provided
✔ No medical or therapy experience required

It’s a great opportunity for retirees and community members who enjoy supporting student learning and giving back to the next generation.

If you have a minimum of a journeyman electrical certificate, at least three years of experience in the electrical field and are ready to teach and support students in electrical coursework, this could be the opportunity for you! 🐾

🔥❄️ Hands-On Learning in the NCCC OTA Program! ♿🛁

Our Occupational Therapy Assistant students have been busy putting classroom knowledge into practice! During recent labs, students gained hands-on experience with hot and cold modalities and participated in simulated disability activities designed to help them better understand how physical limitations can impact everyday activities and participation.

Hands-on learning is an important part of preparing our OTA students with the knowledge, clinical reasoning, and practical skills they will use as future occupational therapy practitioners.💪
