Jefferson County Extension is hiring two part-time, temporary employees to provide instruction and guidance to 4th-12th grade 4-H members in Special Interest 4-H Clubs. The SPIN Club Leaders will work alongside a co-leader and Extension staff members to deliver hands-on education programming at 4-H club meetings on Friday afternoons during the months of September-May. They may provide additional club opportunities outside of this timeframe. Topics of the clubs will include crafting, forestry & wildlife, cooking, STEM, sewing, animals, photography, and digital communications. Experience or knowledge of these topics is helpful, but not necessary, as Extension staff members will help in providing content and plans for the meetings. Jefferson County Extension is hiring a Youth Outreach Educator. This full time position will be responsible for implementing research-based and approved educational programs, including youth outreach to local schools and community partners; promote 4-H state and county programs, events, and activities, working with local partners and media; support other county staff in the delivery modes of 4-H clubs, Clover Kids, school enrichment, after-school programs, days camps, county fair, workshops, and more; and will assist in developing and implementing a year-round county 4-H recruitment and retention strategy to bring diverse youth from entry-point activities into long-term involvement in 4-H.
