As students’ plagiarism is something we can do unintentionally. Often times the underlying issue was we were unaware of how to properly cite, or even a time restraint due to an unfortunate circumstance that occurred in our life. If this is an issue for you, do not panic, because you are not alone. In 2007, Senator John Walsh was in your shoes while working on his Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the Army War College. Regrettably for Senator Walsh his accident of plagiarism had long term consequences, which followed him into the 2014 senator election. For more information on the story of Senator John Walsh’s plagiarism incident check out this thought-provoking article: https://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/24/us/politics/montana-senator-john-walsh-plagiarized-thesis.html

An examination of the final paper required for Senator John Walsh of Montana’s master’s degree from the Army War College indicates that at least a quarter of it was appropriated without attribution.
