For 115 years, Baker College has helped turn ambition into impact ⭐

Meet Larry Crockett, a Baker College alumnus and Detroit entrepreneur whose journey is rooted in turning challenges into opportunities. A 2013 graduate of Baker College, Larry is the founder of two companies and the entrepreneur behind Lorraine’s Premium BBQ Sauce, an international brand headquartered in Detroit and Ghana, Africa.

Larry credits Baker College with helping him navigate unexpected turns and build confidence in his ability to succeed. Although he initially planned to pursue a career in radiology, he shifted his focus to Health Service Administration, earning his degree while working long hours in an automotive factory. He eventually returned to Baker as an instructor.

“Approach each challenge as an opportunity to learn, grow, conquer, and achieve. If someone else has completed this course of study, then you can as well. It is not impossible.”

As Baker College celebrates 115 years of educating and empowering students, alumni like Larry represent the determination and entrepreneurial spirit that continue to shape our communities and create opportunities around the world 🙌
