Hey there proud parents!

My name is Alyce Baker and I have a business making care packages for college students. My packages are designed to make students feel the love from home right to their dorm room or off campus housing location while they are away. They are based off of snacks and information that the parent provides, so the students are sure to love them.

As a parent of two Miami sons, I know firsthand the importance of staying connected and feeling supported during this crucial phase. My eldest son recently graduated from Miami University, and my younger one is still living his best life there. I started my business when my oldest son was a freshman and I’ve been making care packages ever since to help spread a little love and cheer to students. My care packages have earned great reviews from delighted students and parents alike. Please feel free to search my name on this page.

The regular care packages are packed with an assortment of snacks and fun surprises. The regular care package prices are just $43, but the price will be increased on May 28th, so now is your chance to save money! Trust me, nothing beats the feeling of receiving a thoughtfully created care package to help students power through the stress of finals until they get back home.

Please send me a message or click on the link if you are interested in ordering. Last year, I sold out of several different packages, so please order early and remember, after May 28th, the price goes up!

Do you have orientation scheduled already? Both my sons made great friends at orientation. It really helped them adjust those first few weeks of college, to have someone to eat with, walk around with, etc.

Family weekend! If you have plans to visit your student, guarantee reservations now!!! It’s impossible to find rooms in Oxford, try Hueston woods, Hamilton, west Chester, Middletown, etc. air bnb’s sell out quickly every weekend, so be prepared for that as well.

Little secret. I bet the spots are already full. You can try to call Miami athletic office and see if they have any tailgate RV spots left. I am renting one for my son’s graduation. Between the spot and the RV rental, it will be $1300 (and that’s cheap) if it gives you an idea is of how stupid expensive lodging is in Oxford!!

I just read an article that stated the colleges and universities are having a hard time determining financial aid packages due to the FAFSA changes and federal funding concerns. Have any of your incoming freshman students received their award letter yet? I’m sorry that’s happening, it has to be causing a lot of stress for students around the country.

Just a reminder to fill out the FAFSA. Personally, I didn’t find it any ‘easier’ this year, but try to complete it early.

*** REMINDER *** if your income was drastically LOWER in 2023 than it was in 2022, reach out to OneStop after you file your ‘23 taxes so they can adjust your expected family contribution.
