We are less than a week away from fair! We’re trying something new this year; you can bring your fruit, vegetable, and nut entries on Monday evening at the extension office or Tuesday morning at Floral Hall. Come by the extension office if you want to pick up your exhibit tags early. If you have any questions feel free to reach out!

The Annual McCracken County Fair NGC Horticulture Specialty Flower Show
Entries may be brought to the McCracken County Cooperative Extension Service on July 27 from 4:30–6:30 p.m. or to Carson Park Floral Hall on July 28 from 8:00–11:00 a.m.

Timing is everything!
Check out these 6 steps to frost seed your clover and maximize your Kentucky pasture's success this spring.
1. Conduct soil analysis and apply necessary nutrients.
2. Apply the recommended seeding rate.
3. Ensure seed contact with bare soil.
4. Roll after seeding for good seed-soil contact.
5. Select a high-quality clover variety.

A huge shoutout to our McCracken County FCS Program and the up and coming class of Champion Food Volunteers! This last week I had the honor of teaching their lesson. Each of the volunteers participated in the Producers Best Practices Training (PBPT) in order to apply and receive their Sampling Certificate from the state. Following their certification, I got to show off some Meats Cutting Skills with Poultry!
