After dropping the opening set, the College of the Desert Volleyball team battled back to win three straight and defeat the Imperial Valley Desert Warriors, 3-1! 💪

🏟️ A NEW HOME. A NEW CHAPTER. A DRAMATIC WIN. ⚽️

College of the Desert Men's Soccer christened its new home field in unforgettable fashion Tuesday night! 🔴🟡

The Roadrunners battled back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to defeat San Diego Miramar College 2-1 in the first men's soccer match played at COD’s new soccer facility.

⚽️ Pedro "Isaac" Martinez tied the match in the 69th minute with his third goal of the season, assisted by Malakai Martinez.

⚽️ Then, with the clock winding down, Jonathan Price delivered the game-winner in the 89th minute off a beautiful pass from Paul Jasso!

Freshman goalkeeper Leonardo Castro also made several incredible saves to help keep the Roadrunners in the match.

What a way to open a new chapter for COD Men’s Soccer! 🙌

As a first-generation college graduate, Ana knows success is rarely a straight path — it's built through resilience, determination, and the courage to believe in what's possible. That journey now fuels her mission: helping COD student-athletes overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.💪

🎓B.S. in Workforce Education (SIU Carbondale), MSW (CSU San Bernardino). Since joining COD, she's served students through Foster Youth Services, EOPS/CARE, and Work Experience Education.

🏈🥏⛳As Athletic Counselor, Ana helps Roadrunners stay eligible, graduate on time, and build the discipline and resilience that last beyond the playing field.

🇺🇸An Army Reserve veteran and proud parent of three student-athletes (including an NCAA Division II women's golfer!), Ana has lived the student-athlete journey herself — now she guides others through it.

🤝A former CASA advocate for foster youth, she's also given her time to local athletic booster organizations across the Coachella Valley.

🏃‍♀️Off the clock: trail runs, three marathons (and counting), and cheering on her son at wrestling tournaments.

🌎Proudly bilingual in English and Spanish, Ana is here to make sure every Roadrunner has what they need to thrive.
