Friends of the College of the Desert Library

Friends of the College of the Desert Library Non-profit organization to support the COD Library They have sponsored author luncheons, book reviews, charter tours, teas, scholarship awards and more.

Our mission is to share members' enthusiasm for literature and libraries with the community and to raise funds to achieve those goals. Since its formation and incorporation in 1970, the Friends have supported the COD Library through a variety of activities. Their primary fund-raising activity, a book sale called Twice Sold Tales, provides the Library with tens of thousands of dollars annually. Thi

s money provides vital materials, from books to equipment, that the library would not otherwise be able to obtain. Additionally, the Friends support the Library's Desert Collection by providing funds for new books and by creating a Desert Collection bibliography. This bibliography is available at the college library.
