te College are three of eight programs commonly referred to as TRiO programs which are designed to help students overcome environmental, social, cultural, and academic barriers to higher education. Each TRiO Program provides a variety of services to various student demographics from personal, academic, and career counseling; academic instruction and individualized tutoring; assistance in applying for financial aid; to encouragement and support for students who have academic potential and the desire to succeed in college.

🎬 Lights, Camera, Action! 🎬

This week, our Upward Bound students kicked off our Film & Video Production Workshop with the amazing team from Tried & True, and we have been blown away by the creativity, talent, and hard work they have displayed!

From learning the fundamentals of filmmaking to developing their own concepts and projects, students have truly embraced the creative process. Watching their ideas come to life on screen has been nothing short of impressive. 🎥

Tomorrow, we’ll wrap up the week with an exciting challenge as students create a marketing video for TRiO. We can’t wait to see their final productions and the unique ways they showcase what TRiO means to them.

What a fantastic week of STEM!

Our Upward Bound students had an incredible week filled with hands-on learning, teamwork, creativity, and fun!

Students learned how to program robots and drones, navigated obstacle courses, and put their problem solving skills to the test. One of the highlights of the week was the engineering challenge where students had to design and build a device to protect an egg during a drop from heights ranging from 20 feet all the way up to 150 feet!

Watching our students think critically, collaborate, and step outside of their comfort zones was amazing. These experiences are exactly what STEM is all about innovation, creativity, perseverance, and learning through discovery.

A special thank you to Fred and the Technology Department for doing an outstanding job facilitating this week’s activities. Your passion, expertise, and dedication helped make this an unforgettable experience for our students.

Here’s to a week of learning, growth, and future innovators in the making!

Upward Bound Summer Institute 2026 is officially underway!

Day 1 was a great success, and we are off to an amazing start! Our students jumped right in, had a great time, and embraced all the opportunities that STEM Week has to offer.

One of my favorite parts of the day was watching new friendships begin to form. There’s something special about seeing students connect, encourage one another, and build relationships that will last throughout the summer and beyond.

We are excited for a week filled with learning, creativity, hands-on experiences, and fun. If today was any indication, this is going to be an incredible Summer Institute!
