Professor Steffen Lehmann (UNLV) has again been named among the Top 2% of Scientists globally in the latest ScholarGPS ranking.

His placement is based on publications and citations in two fields:

Award news! Asst. Prof. Jung-Hwa Kim () and Landscape Architecture students Jacel Zers Avila '25 () and Adam King '27 (.q.king) received a 2026 City of Reno Historic Preservation Award (Historical Project) for their 2025 HALS Challenge report on Wingfield Park.

The project was completed in collaboration with the HALS Liaisons of the Nevada Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (.asla). Special thanks to Amanda Rookey, PLA, ASLA, Nevada HALS Liaison; Melinda Gustin, ASLA, Nevada HALS Co-Liaison; and Daniel Moss, Project Coordinator, City of Reno Utility Services Department.

A paper by Arsalan Mirsadraei (Architecture) has been accepted to the 2026 Imagining Creative Worlds symposium, held online November 11–12.

"Technological Paradigm Transitions in Architectural Practice: Evaluating the Transformative Potential of Artificial Intelligence"

Architects have switched tools before, from drawing by hand to computers and then to 3D building models. His paper asks whether AI is the next big shift, and which parts of design it will change most.

AIAS UNLV Chapter members and others visited one of the most anticipated restaurants on The Strip last week at The Cosmopolitan: The Corner Store. For some students, it was their second time seeing the project under construction. This time it was nearly finished and stunningly beautiful (Designed by Moser Architecture Studio and Rockwell Group).
