Through continuing education and cooperative programs, the College contributes to the economic development and general welfare of the region.

Mineral Area College serves our communities by providing excellent, affordable opportunities for learning, personal growth, and career development in a safe and welcoming environment. Mineral Area College is dedicated to the belief that learning beyond high school is essential for the full development of individuals’ interests and capacities and for the training of responsible citizens who will make a worthy contribution in a democratic society. It further believes the public, two-year community college is in a unique position to contribute to the overall program of higher education by providing the first years of college at a reasonable cost. Close to the community it serves, Mineral Area College meets the needs not only of those who will transfer to other institutions, but also of those who are preparing for careers through occupational programs, and those who value learning for its own sake. Mineral Area College believes in an open door policy that offers to everyone an opportunity to benefit from higher education. The College will at all times strive for quality in its educational programs.

As part of Red Ribbon Week, students stopped by the concourse yesterday and today for the Boos Without Booze mocktail event! 👻The event gave students an engaging way to separate myths from facts about drugs and alcohol while encouraging awareness and informed decision-making.

Congratulations to Josie Aubuchon, our newest MAC Foundation/Auto Tech Department car giveaway winner! 🚗

This MAC art student, who has an ultimate goal of completing a bachelor's degree in graphic design, is driving away in a 2007 Ford Escape, after today’s Scholarship Luncheon.

A big thank you to Robin Winter, who generously donated the vehicle to the MAC Foundation, and to our Auto Tech students, who gained hands-on experience as they prepared the vehicle for the giveaway.

In her application, Josie shared that she has been sharing a vehicle with her parents. Having her own wheels will make their work, school, and personal schedules so much easier to manage, lifting the daily stress of constant scheduling off her family's shoulders. We're beyond thrilled to help lighten that load and support her journey toward a bright creative career!

Enjoy these photos from today’s surprise announcement at the Scholarship Luncheon! 👇📸

Thank you to everyone who attended this afternoon's Scholarship Luncheon! It was a wonderful afternoon of connection, celebration, and firsthand accounts of how scholarships are making a difference in the lives of MAC students.

A special thank you to the five students--Johnna Cline, Paramedic; April Guillory, Associate Degree Nursing; Clay Whittenburg, Art; Tucker McDowell, Auto Tech; and Halle Durbin, Practical Nursing--who shared their personal stories and experiences with us.

We are also grateful to our generous donors and supporters, whose contributions make these scholarship opportunities possible. Your generosity helps open doors and create opportunities for students to achieve their goals.
