Big congratulations to Engineering Technology students Garrett Flesher, Cody Harless and Zarik Westrick for becoming the first students in WVU Parkersburg’s Engineering Technology program to earn the Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) credential. 🎉

The industry-recognized certification validates skills in SolidWorks, one of the most widely used 3D design programs in engineering and manufacturing. After spending the semester building 20 to 30 models and developing their design skills, these students successfully passed the rigorous certification exam.

An extra shoutout to Garrett Flesher, who earned the highest score in the group with a 92%.

This achievement not only demonstrates their hard work and dedication but also gives them a valuable credential that will stand out to employers across the Mid-Ohio Valley and beyond.

Way to go, Riverhawks! 💙💛

Congrats to Willis Hundley on being the first confirmed graduate of the STAND Program from WVU Parkersburg!!

Hundley is a member of the WV Laborers and plans to continue his education in the WVU-P Supervisory Management Program.

This is exactly why STAND was created: to provide a pathway and training for WV construction workers to become leaders on the jobsite.

STAND is a state-funded program that gives Building Trades apprentices the opportunity to pursue an associate degree from a WV community & technical college TUITION-FREE!

“Programs like STAND open doors for the working class who may not otherwise have the chance to pursue higher education while building their careers in construction,” said Hundley.

“It definitely made it more financially secure. That was the big win for me, was the financial security. Being able to get an associate’s degree without all the out-of-pocket costs.”
