Wildlife Corridors

Wildlife Corridors Wildlife Corridors, LLC, is an entity based in Patagonia, AZ, that is dedicated to the protection and improvement of the Sonoita Creek Wildlife Corridor.

Biologists have long recognized the importance of connections between the biological diversity of the Sky Islands and that of the Sierra Madre Occidental of Mexico. Many separate scientific analyses of the region have come to the same conclusion: the biological diversity of the individual mountain ranges is in peril if the migratory linkages among them are jeopardized. In 2004, the Sonoita Creek W

ildlife Corridor was identified in a university level study as an important linkage for black bear and mountain lion, and was the most highly ranked linkage for jaguar moving between Mexico and the Huachuca and Santa Rita Mountain ranges outside Patagonia, AZ. This linkage, named the Sonoita Creek Wildlife Corridor, was purchased by Wildlife Corridors, LLC in 2015 after bankruptcy forced the cancellation of a planned development of over 160 houses on the over 1,000 acre property. The primary business activities of WC, LLC, at this time are facilitating investments and gifts that will ensure the perpetual protection of the important wildlife corridors on the property, while balancing the public needs for recreation and enjoyment.
