Zeta Psi Fraternity A global fraternity sustained by love and lifelong friendships since 1847!

On the first of June in 1847, three intrepid men gathered in a New York home with grand purpose in mind: the constitution of a new greek-letter secret society. Their names were John Bradt Yates Sommers, William Henry Dayton, and John Moon Skillman; the fraternity they founded that day is Zeta Psi. Zeta Psi is currently an international brotherhood, consisting of approximately 50 chapters.

Happy Flag Friday! At the end of September, members of the Theta Xi chapter came together to participate in the Terry Fox Run in remembrance of Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope.

Rudrah Shaha shared, “participating in the run allowed our brothers to honour Terry’s legacy while continuing his mission of giving back to others. As a fraternity, we are proud to come together in support of cancer research and to carry forward the spirit of service and perseverance that Terry Fox embodied.”

Members of the Tau Theta chapter at Ontario Tech University came together to participate in the Third Annual Walk to End Intimate Partner Violence in the Durham Region. Brothers walked alongside sisters of the Delta Phi Nu chapter at Oshawa and other members of their community to speak up and spread awareness!

We are excited to announce our parternship with Movember, the world’s largest men’s health organization and a global leader in improving mental health, su***de prevention, prostate cancer outcomes, and testicular cancer outcomes. This November, all chapters will have the opportunity to fundraise for men’s health through chapter and Alunmni specific pages.

Jackson Lopez and Connor Dodd (Beta ‘25) are participating in the NYC marathon this November. After moving to NYC post graduation alongside 13 of their pledge brothers, Jackson and Connor were looking for ways to continue the philantrophic impact they started in undergrad with their Zeta Psi chapter.

Jackson will be running in support of HeartShare, a New York based non-profit with developmental disability services and family services. Jackson shared, “Running the NYC Marathon gives me the opportunity to combine a personal challenge with a cause I care about. I’m proud to run for HeartShare and continue the spirit of service that was such an important part of my college experience.”

Connor will be running on behalf of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, an organization that supports people with CF and their families through research, treatments, specialized care, and the search for a cure. Connor is also running for his two younger brothers, who both have CF.

Join us in wishing Jackson and Connor the best of luck as they take on 26.2 miles for two amazing causes!

In September, the Phi Epsilon chapter at the University of Maryland wrapped up a Back-to-School clothing drive. Brothers donated over 400 shirts, sweatshirts, pants, shorts, and other clothing items to Terp to Terp, a campus community closet that provides UMD students with much-needed essentials, free of cost.

The philanthropy chair Dalton Bury shared, “Our chapter is proud to be a force for good at UMD and we’re looking forward to contributing to a host of other philanthropy initiatives throughout this semester!”

Legendary Stanford men’s coach and Zete Dick Gould (Mu ‘59) was recognized during the evening session of the U.S. Open on September 5. Gould spent 57 years as a player, coach and director at Stanford. He lead the men’s team to 17 NCAA champions and 50 of his players received All-American honors during his tenure.
