On September 12, the Torchbearers Male Mentorship Program hosted its first group session, officially beginning a year focused on mentorship, leadership, exposure, and personal growth.
Torchbearers is a signature mentorship initiative of the Tau Omicron Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., supported by the Onward and Upward Foundation of Brazoria County. Through this partnership, we are committed to investing in the next generation of young men and providing them with the knowledge, relationships, and experiences that will help prepare them for success.
Our first session focused on financial literacy, with a financial expert sharing practical strategies, best practices, and important lessons our young men can begin applying at an early age. Additional speakers also poured into our Torchbearers, sharing wisdom, encouragement, and lessons from their own experiences.
And we are just getting started! 🔥
Our Mentorship Program Chairman and Director, Bro. Jonathan Thomas, is seeking additional professionals and subject-matter experts who are willing to share their knowledge throughout the year. Future conversations will explore career readiness, entrepreneurship, leadership, health and wellness, college preparation, technology, etiquette, life skills, and other topics that will help prepare our young men for their futures.
