The first week of school is over already! 😮 We had so much fun distributing first day signs to new kindergarteners and we're especially grateful to Tri County Area Federal Credit Union and Wisler Pearlstine, LLP for sponsoring the signs!

Last year was incredible 🙌 and we are grateful to all who make it possible for UPEF to fund programs for students! While we wait for the 2026-27 school year to ramp up, here’s a look back at UPEF’s newest signature program, made possible through the generosity of program sponsor St. Luke’s University Health Network. Thank you, St. Luke’s, for your partnership and support of UPSD! 💙💛

4th and 5th grade students wrapped up their year with a mobile science program that brought scientific concepts to life through entertaining “magic” tricks. Students took the stage to help demonstrate the science behind magnetism, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and optical illusions, discovering how these seemingly magical effects really work.

We can’t wait to share more fun, more learning, and more magic with you this year!

Spring is in the air! Using seeds and supplies funded through a UPEF teacher grant, students worked together to plant seeds and observe their growth inside a greenhouse. Students kept a journal to record measurements and drawings of plant changes. After 4 weeks, they repotted the plants and got them ready to take home so they could get them in the ground in time for spring sunshine.

Great job students – we see your green thumbs! 😊
