It’s April - one of our favorite months here at UPEF because it means students at Hereford and Marlborough have shiny new books to read together as part of UPEF’s One School, One Book literacy program!

We are exceptionally grateful to program sponsors QNB Bank and Stauffer Glove and Safety - as well as UP's amazing reading specialists - for making this program possible.

Students had a blast watching a magic show (thanks PTFS!) during school-wide kickoff assemblies. Special shoutout to QuiNBy the Savings Squirrel for endless smiles 😃 and high fives all around!

UPEF is proud to have supported this year’s UPMS visiting author! Philadelphia-based writer, Laurie Morrison, visited UPMS to provide students with a glimpse into her life as a middle grade author. In addition to teaching, Laurie has authored several books, including Up for Air, Saint Ivy, Coming Up Short, Keeping Pace, and Where Ella Went - coming April 14! 📖

UPEF is grateful to Laurie Morrison for sharing her story with the amazing students of the Upper Perkiomen Middle School – and equally grateful to UPEF’s generous supporters who make it possible!

If there’s a way to enhance learning and engagement in the classroom – we’re here for it! As part of today’s featured teacher grant, a classroom at the 4th and 5th Grade Center shows off shiny new lap desks, wobble seats, and a bean bag chair. Varied seating options and workspaces are tools that can help students’ self-regulation and focus in the classroom. UPEF is pleased to fund this grant!

Check out one of UPEF's Classroom Grants in Action! 👇

Third grade students at Hereford Elementary joined together to complete a service project as a team. Students worked collaboratively to assemble baby bundle bags, containing important items to be provided to new parents in need. Through this hands-on activity, students learned about the importance of working together, showing kindness and giving back. One student shared, "I really liked to do it. We helped people and it made me feel really good." Kudos to students and teachers for working together to DO GOOD! 💙💛
