Chapter History: In Fall 2008, a call was made to bring together collegiate women who were interested in bringing an Asian-Interest sorority to the University of West Florida. The goal was to find women who had a passion for promoting Asian awareness and cultural diversity on campus and the surrounding community but to do so in a way that would create lasting bonds between those involved. Le, Jennifer Albesa, Honey Nguyen, Evangelina Galvez, Kristine Medina, Jet A, and Sarah Nguyen were brought together by fate and on October 10, 2008 these ladies formed an interest group and dubbed themselves as Females Achieving Cultural Exploration with Service, or, in short, F.A.C.E.S. As an interest group they worked diligently on becoming visible on campus by taking up leadership positions in other organizations, putting on successful events atypical from those seen on campus, and volunteering within the community while also promoting Asian awareness and cultural diversity. They overcame many obstacles, experienced heartache, and fought past much opposition. However, with the enduring support of their family, friends, as well as faculty and other Greek organizations on the UWF campus, they were able to persevere. Finally, history was made on March 27, 2010 as the 'Signature Seven' chartered for Delta Phi Lambda Asian-Interest Sorority, Inc. and became the first multicultural and first Asian-Interest Greek lettered organization at the University of West Florida.
