We're Hiring!

The University of West Florida is seeking another helping hand in our community to serve as OPS Field Placement Coordinator within the Usha Kundu, MD College of Health in the Department of Social Work.

Social Workers lend a helping hand in our community. If you want to join our team and help lend a hand, check out this opportunity. The position requires the coordinator to arrange field education experiences for all undergraduate and graduate social work students. The coordinator is responsible for working as an extension of the field office to support efforts in recruiting placement sites, developing university affiliation agreements with agencies, interviewing students, completing written documentation of the student's field education experience, developing field documents, and providing training for field instructors..

📍Community impact in action with UWF Department of Public Health

On May 20, the Northwest Florida Community Cancer Collaborative (NWFCCC), alongside the Florida Department of Health Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program, hosted its 11th 3-D Mobile Mammography screening event at the Health & Hope Clinic in Pensacola.

MammoLink provided onsite screenings, while Keeping Abreast Foundation joined community partners in supporting awareness, prevention, and early detection efforts throughout Northwest Florida Mammolink provided onsite screenings, while Keeping Abreast Foundation joined community partners in supporting awareness, prevention, and early detection efforts throughout Northwest Florida.

Dr. Justice Mbizo, Professor, epidemiologist, and principal investigator in the Department of Public Health within the Usha Kundu, MD College of Health, continues leading community-engaged research supporting the 2026–2030 Florida State Cancer Plan and efforts to reduce the burden of cancer in Florida.

Meet Kara Dingess ‘13, assistant professor of psychiatry at Tulane University’s Center for Autism and Related Disorders.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the UWF Usha Kundu, MD College of Health, Kara now uses both her education and experience with psoriatic arthritis to empathize with her patients, providing clarity and resources during times of uncertainty.
