🌴🌺 Dancing in Paradise! 🌺🌴

Our Nursing Population Health students made Implementation Day extra special by partnering with Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Pace, FL, to provide free sandwiches and smoothies.

Students also brought their research-based Community Impact Project, “Dancing in Paradise,” to the Capstone Adaptive Learning and Therapy Center. They hosted a luau to educate residents and provide activities focused on promoting self-esteem and self-expression.

We’re proud of our students for putting their knowledge into action and creating a fun, meaningful experience for members of our community! 💙🥤🌺

We are proud to recognize UWF nursing students for their outstanding work during Implementation Week.

Partnering with Capstone Adaptive Learning and Therapy Centers, Inc, the students designed and created a sensory garden and spent implementation day building bird feeders with program participants. Together, they created a space that promotes sensory engagement, connection with nature, and enjoyment for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This project reflects the compassion, creativity, and dedication our nursing students bring to serving others. We are grateful to Capstone TEC for partnering with us to provide this meaningful learning experience and proud of our students for making a lasting impact in the community.

Congratulations to Dr. Renée L. Davis, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC, FAANP, Executive Director of the School of Nursing in the UWF Usha Kundu, MD College of Health , on being named a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners!

Dr. Davis attended the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) National Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada where she was inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP), one of the highest honors in the nurse practitioner profession.
