Maura O’Brien ’17 discovered the complexity of life living in a cultural crossroads as a U.S. State Department intern in Ankara, Turkey. Three months at the city’s U.S. embassy helped her grasp new perspectives as news headlines unfolded on her doorstep.
O’Brien, a political science major with minors in religious studies and international studies, explored Muslim culture and the Syrian refugee crisis as a cultural intern from late October 2015-mid January 2016. http://www.bradley.edu/inthespotlight/story/?id=20d83a3a-82fd-483e-a274-63417050e385

Four hundred college students, including Bradley international studies major Dillon Brenner ’15, tried to solve pressing global concerns in four days at West Point’s Student Conference on United States Affairs. Though the November event didn’t achieve world peace, it built cross-cultural relationships that will help students navigate foreign policy issues in the future. http://www.bradley.edu/inthespotlight/story/?id=a9db2324-a22a-4f7e-9eeb-c6f534a1eb53
