The Power of 22 is a year-long membership engagement and social media campaign designed to make the 22nd day of every month a signature day of action for Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

Each month, members and affiliates will be challenged to take one simple, measurable action connected to our Five Pillars:

This weekend, members of Epsilon Eta Sigma , along with many organizations, participated in and supported the Alzheimer Association's Walk to End Alzheimers.💜

In additional to it being a personal testament to members, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is a partner and supporter in the advocacy and awareness of the Alzheimers Association.💜

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This month, we honor those whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer, including our beloved Soror Hattie McDaniel, who passed away from breast cancer in 1952 at the age of 57.

In her honor and memory, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. established the Hattie McDaniel Cancer Awareness and Health Program. The program was created to promote education, encourage early detection of breast, prostate, ovarian, colon, and other cancers, and support research focused on cancer prevention.

Today, this work has evolved into the Women’s Wellness Initiative, empowering chapters to address health issues that disproportionately impact women, particularly women of color.

We celebrate breast cancer survivors and honor their strength while working diligently to raise awareness and help create a future with more survivors.

This month, we celebrate the rich cultures, histories, achievements, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. As we continue our commitment to Greater Service, Greater Progress, we honor the individuals and communities whose leadership, creativity, and service continue to make an impact.

This month, take action: Support a Hispanic-owned business, learn about Hispanic history and culture, or recognize a Hispanic leader making a difference in your community.
