Coastal Hill Farm is located in the beautiful rolling hills of Middle Two Rock in Sonoma County and we produce healthy free range poultry products. They are fed an all natural diet; including outside access to forage insects and grass in open pasture. Our hens not only produce excellent eggs, but they also spend their time scratching and creating compost for our vegetable garden. Coastal Hill Farm
sustains a large variety of chicken breeds to support both breed and egg diversity. Although we have the majority of the pastures certified organic, the chicken eggs are not. The reason for this decision is due to our feeding of fruit, vegetables, and bread which was otherwise thrown away or composted. These foods are given to Coastal Hill Farm from places such as New Begginnings located in Novato, California. The kitchen scraps and food waste are common items fed to chickens and other livestock which helps to reduce landfills, provide alternative goodies to their diet, and contributes to the composted soils which is then of course used in our garden. We never use pesticides or chemical fertilizers, we utilize our livestock by encouraging them to be as natural as possible, and in turn they provide use with excellent food products, natural fertilizers, and natural clean up of green forages.
