One of five colleges at Virginia State University, the College of Agriculture is the land-grant division of the University. Programs are student-centered and research intensive, providing a strong foundation for academic and professional success. The teaching, research and outreach activities of the College of Agriculture complement and reinforce one another. Students in the College benefit from the presence of the on-campus Research Center, while clients of Cooperative Extension benefit from the research and academic expertise that strengthen its programs and services.

The Urban Ag Field Day Celebration is open to the public. Registration for the first 50 participants, which included special giveaways and a meal ticket, is now closed — but everyone is still welcome to attend.

Come out for a day of learning, connection, farm activities, local vendors, and community. Food trucks will also be available throughout the day.

Don’t miss the opportunity to see the amazing work happening in urban agriculture across Virginia.

Through Virginia Cooperative Extension and the VSU College of Agriculture Small Farm Outreach Program, our upcoming workshops are giving farmers and producers access to practical information and tools designed to strengthen operations and support long-term success 🌱

Topics range from soil health and crop production to livestock management, business planning, risk management, and sustainable farming practices.

These sessions are designed to provide real-world strategies, hands-on learning opportunities, and resources that can be applied directly to your farm and operation.
