Project Knowledge VSU Did you know:
The new ACE program is based, in part, on the findings from Project Knowledge.

Project Knowledge is designed to help high school students become learn life skills and become highly competitive jobs starting from DAY ONE at the very beginning of their college careers. Project Knowledge is designed to help incoming first-years studying a Science, Technology Engineering, or Mathematics (also called STEM) discipline prepare themselves for graduate school and competitive jobs at

the start of their college career. Project Knowledge runs for the entire freshman year and includes weekly
meetings designed to deliver valuable academic and real-life skills to help students succeed! During students’ first year trained upper-class mentors meet with them weekly to:
- Help them negotiate college life
- Review study skills and habits
- Help students succeed in balancing their many responsibilities

Results from the class of 2013:
-The average GPA for PK students was higher than non PK students at VSU
-PK students are 10% more likely to stick to their major
-73.9% of PK students stay in school after their first semester vs 61% for non-PK students! The Department of Biology uses concepts from Project Knowledge that have led to an increase in Biology majors and higher test scores.
