This summer, Shafaa Manjal, M&T’27, immersed herself in the fast-moving world of autonomous vehicles at NVIDIA, where she worked as a Software Engineering Intern on the Autonomous Vehicles team. She built AI agents to help engineers triage issues in vehicle recording systems and contributed to infrastructure supporting the scale-up of NVIDIA’s autonomous vehicle software stack as the team prepares for larger-scale robotaxi deployments. Along the way, Shafaa gained firsthand experience bringing cutting-edge AI from research into practical application.
The M&T Program and its incredible faculty and staff equipped Shafaa to pair technical depth with strategic thinking, helping her see not only how emerging technologies are built, but how they can be scaled into products with real-world impact.

Vero Electric began when M&T rising senior Reider McFeely converted a 2010 Ford Escape to electric using second-life EV batteries and discovered just how fragmented and outdated battery management technology had become.

Today, Vero's M&T-led team is building the only unified platform for managing batteries across electric vehicles, marine systems, industrial equipment, energy storage, and more. Its integrated hardware, software, and data analytics layer spans from individual cells to grid-scale systems.
