Have you ever wondered how AI can recognize our gestures or read simple body language? 🤖

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore the basics of artificial intelligence by building our very own mini AI model using Google Teachable Machine.
Participants will train an AI model to recognize three hand gestures: thumbs up 👍, thumbs down 👎, and a peace sign ✌️. By collecting image samples with your we**am, training your model, and testing predictions in real time, you’ll get to see firsthand how machines learn patterns from data.

No coding experience is required—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment! By the end of the workshop, you’ll understand how training data affects AI accuracy and why machine learning is becoming such a powerful tool in today’s technology.

Make sure to bring your laptop so you can follow along and train your own AI model during the workshop! 💻

Bytes & Bridges can feel intimidating, especially if it’s your first time attending a networking event. Bytes & Bridges Prep Lab is designed to help you feel more prepared, confident, and ready to connect. Instead of going in unsure of what to say or how to approach employers, you’ll have the chance to build those skills ahead of time.

The event will feature interactive stations focused on resume reviews, networking strategies, LinkedIn guidance, and interview preparation. Students can move between stations based on their needs and stay for as little or as long as they’d like. Resume reviews will be available throughout the event, making this especially valuable for students preparing for upcoming fall and winter co-op application cycles.
