Fashion Design at Drexel University The program is ranked in the top four in the United States and 14th in the world.

Drexel's top-flight Fashion Design major is a studio-based, boutique-style program that trains the next generation of creative thinkers for the fashion industry. Students in Drexel’s Fashion Design program have the opportunity to study alongside dynamic educators with extensive industry experience, produce innovative designs in our well-equipped studios, and participate in Drexel’s world-renowned co-op and study abroad programs. The culmination of the program is the Drexel Fashion Show, at which students showcase original garments and accessories for industry leaders. Students in Drexel’s Fashion Design undergraduate program receive a bachelor of science degree from one of the nation’s top universities located in the United States’ sixth largest city, with easy access to Philadelphia’s rich cultural and vibrant design scene.

From the collections that take the spotlight to the creative direction, visual identity, production, and energy behind the scenes, a fashion show takes a team of talent across disciplines to bring it all together.

Whether you’re interested in fashion design, merchandising, graphic design, arts and entertainment, film & video, or another creative field, Fashion Event Planning is your opportunity to be part of the team producing the 2027 Drexel Fashion Show.

Join Design Philadelphia & the Fashion Community this Friday…

Philadelphia-based fashion designers and Drexel alumni Varvara “Bobby” Diakonenkova and Elias Frost debut their newest collection, “Dear Philly,” a collection by the Art Collective Most Hated, as part of DesignPhiladelphia 2026 Festival.

An ode to the city where they studied fashion design and developed their creative practices, “Dear Philly” brings together Bobby’s Russian-born perspective and their shared experience of Philadelphia through sculptural silhouettes, architectural lines, and personal expression.

Bobby competed on Project Runway Season 22, and Elias will compete in the Supima Design Competition this November.

We’re thrilled to welcome George Kalajian, from Tom's Sons International Pleating, a multi-generational pleater, who will share his knowledge, story, passion, and process with us.

Drexel Fashion Shows Up at Philly Fashion Week!
A big congratulations to our three Fashion Design alumni, Claudia Sestak, Winnie Mei, and Ethan Gayle, who showcased their work at Philly Fashion Week’s Evolution Runway Student Designer Competition!
The evening brought together emerging designers from leading local colleges and universities, celebrating creativity, innovation, and the future of fashion in Philadelphia.
Congratulations to Ethan Gayle, who was named the winner of the Student Designer Competition! Ethan received a $1,000 prize and an invitation to showcase his work at Maison x Philly Fashion Week.
We’re also so happy to see the Drexel Fashion community showing up for one another. Our first-year Fashion Design students & friends, along with grad student Emiliano Alquezada and faculty members, came out to cheer on our alumni from the audience. It was great to see everyone!!

Please join us for “The Ethical Edit: A Panel on Sustainable Design for Longevity & Renewal”

This panel focuses on the critical shift toward natural fibers, textiles, and domestic sourcing, shedding light on how moving away from synthetic materials can bring positive change for our planet and our health. Panelists will shift the narrative from vague sustainability promises to accessible supply chain transparency. Look into the full lifecycle of a garment—from raw seed to final repair/renewal—with a focus on natural fibers, “slow fashion”, and domestic manufacturing.

We’re excited to celebrate Nick Kinniry, a rising senior in Drexel’s Fashion Design program, who will be showcasing his Fall/Winter “Na Na” collection at Philly Fashion Week ,with fellow Fashion Design student Gianna Stump assisting with
the collection.

Come support our Fashion Design students as Nick brings “Na Na” to the runway at PFW Runway One on Friday, September 18 at 7:00 PM at 901 Market Street in Philadelphia.
