The Center for Interdisciplinary Inquiry at Drexel University The Center for Interdisciplinary Inquiry (CII) at Drexel University offers students different opportunities to develop “big-picture” thinking.

The 21st century will be defined by the complexity and interconnected nature of human endeavors. The world’s nations and politics, its markets and technology, its cultures and ideas are merging together in ways unimaginable even a generation ago. The challenges of this interconnected world are vast: human rights and health; energy, water, and the environment; risk and disasters; artistic and techn

ological ingenuity. These are just a few of the areas in which fresh inquiry is demanded, inquiry that is free to roam beyond conventional disciplinary boundaries. The Center for Interdisciplinary Inquiry (CII) at Drexel University offers students several different opportunities to develop the “big-picture” thinking and analytical skills associated with cutting-edge interdisciplinary teaching and research. Located in the Pennoni Honors College, the CII comprises three programs: the Custom-Designed Major, the Great Works Symposium, and Travel-Integrated Courses.
