From TEMPLE ACM-W to an internship at SAP.

Computer science major Saumika Pandey, Class of 2027, first connected with SAP through Temple’s Association for Computing Machinery Council on Women ( ACM-W), where she serves as co-president.

After meeting SAP recruiters at a CST career fair, Saumika built a mentoring relationship with an SAP employee that eventually helped lead to her internship with the company’s data and AI solution area adoption team.

Now, she’s getting hands-on experience at the intersection of technology, AI and business. One of her projects used SAP Joule to turn a process that could take up to a week into one that takes about five minutes.

What happens in the Pacific can have consequences around the world.

“El Niño changes where heat is distributed on the planet,” says Rebecca Beadling, assistant professor of earth and environmental science in CST.

The climate pattern can influence weather far beyond the Pacific, contributing to heavy rainfall, flooding, drought, wildfires and rising global temperatures.

Beadling explains what scientists are watching this year and how the warming ocean could influence the intensity of El Niño’s impacts.

More than 200 students, teachers and families from 33 local schools joined CST and NBME for a day of hands-on science, engineering and medical activities at Temple.

And this is just the beginning. The new STEMM bus will bring these experiences directly to local schools throughout the school year.
