Tomorrow: Scribe Video Center is holding a screening of the 2025 documentary LAND OF DREAMS, directed by Ambarien Alqadar (MFA '12)! LAND OF DREAMS has been screened at many festivals, including the San Francisco South Asian Film Festival, Indie Meme in Austin, TX, the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival, and was also awarded Best Documentary by the Society for Visual Anthropology. Now, LAND OF DREAMS heads to Scribe Video Center!

Filmed over a decade between India and United States, LAND OF DREAMS is an intimate portrait of Virender Rana - a taxi driver from India, chasing his dream of becoming a filmmaker in America. While he points the camera at his own life and films a Bollywood style movie, the film follows his journey of coming to America, finding joy as part of a larger Sikh community and that of taxi drivers, and laying roots as an immigrant.

Seats are limited and are only $5, so head over to the Scribe Video Center and catch this great doc!

We're sending a big congratulations to Eva Steinmetz (MFA '24) because her musical PENELOPE will be getting a production at Classic Stage Company later this year! This isn't the first time we've celebrated PENELOPE: the show premiered at Hudson Valley Shakespeare in 2023, followed by Theatre Horizon in association with Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, both in 2025.

Penelope waited twenty years for Odysseus to return from the Trojan War. Now she’s ready to share her side of the story…but she’s going to need a drink first. Starring Broadway’s Grace McLean, this contemporary chamber musical brings one of history’s greatest epics to life through a Richard Rodgers Award-winning folk-pop score. Sharp, funny, and unexpectedly moving — this is Penelope’s Odyssey.

Congratulations, Eva! You can catch PENELOPE from December 10th-20th in New York City at the Classic Stage Company.

For the third year in a row, we've been named one of the 30 Best Film Schools in the US and Canada by MovieMaker Magazine! 🏆 We're delighted to make this list alongside some other incredible institutions.

"In addition to hands-on courses with state of the art equipment, the curriculum covers major theories of image making and new technology, ensuring that students understand the social, political, and economic forces that shape media arts and the culture at large. That translates to a better understanding of both creativity and the marketplace."

Check out the whole list at the link in our bio!
