By accelerating excellence through scholarships, we're igniting purpose.

In just two weeks, PCOM South Georgia faculty, staff, and alumni pledged $57,070 to establish the Dr. Savita Arya Memorial Scholarship. Dr. Arya taught pathology to medical students for more than 20 years and joined PCOM South Georgia at the campus's inception. The scholarship was spearheaded by Thomas Lent, PhD, her friend and colleague of more than 17 years, and holds deep meaning for her husband, Dr. Shiw Dhiman, an inaugural member of the PCOM South Georgia faculty.

Selena Meza, MS/Biomed '26 (DO '30), a first-generation college and medical student, is a recipient of the scholarship:

"Receiving this scholarship, in Dr. Arya's memory, makes me feel even more motivated knowing that someone who dedicated her life to this field has become part of the beginning of my own journey."

: James Williams, DO '91, was recently inducted as the 179th president of MedChi, the Maryland State Medical Society. Dr. Williams is only the second DO to ever hold this position!

We are of three PCOM alums honored at the recent ACOS Annual Clinical Assembly!

Benjamin Lam, DO, RES '00 (pictured left) was inducted as ACOS President.

H. William Craver, DO '87 (pictured right) received the Orel F. Martin Award, recognizing outstanding contributions to the College and the osteopathic profession.

Phillip C. Ginsberg, DO '80 (not pictured) received the Charles L. Ballenger Distinguished Osteopathic Surgeon Award in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments as a surgeon, educator, and researcher.

Since it began, the United & Ignited campaign has raised $61,728,732 toward its $65 million goal, powered by 8,594 gifts (as of June 30, 2026). Alumni donors make up the largest share of that support.
