On April 24, Temple Pharmacy came alive with the energy of discovery. Research Recognition Day 2026 brought together more than 30 student researchers to present original work to alumni judges, faculty, and peers. The breadth and quality of the research on display was a testament to what makes Temple Pharmacy's training so distinctive.
The keynote address came from Dr. Robert R. Ruffolo, Jr., PhD, one of the pharmaceutical industry's most accomplished scientists. Over four decades, Dr. Ruffolo led R&D teams that brought 38 medicines to market, including carvedilol (Coreg®), which is now credited with saving tens of millions of lives worldwide. His address gave students an inspiring and candid look at what a career in pharmaceutical science can look like.
A career panel featuring Temple alumni and faculty added real-world perspective to the day's scientific programming.
The event also featured the official launch of Temple Pharmacy's 125 Most Impactful Research Publications, which celebrates 125 years of TUSP discovery, innovation, and impact.
