The Temple University School of Pharmacy awards degrees in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, and regulatory affairs and quality assurance and leads innovations in pharmacy practice and science. Established in 1901, the Temple University School of Pharmacy, carries more than a centuryโ€™s worth of history and reliability in pharmacy education. Our programs, assets, and products support our ongoing s

uccess in creating opportunities to transform lives. The School provides opportunities to earn degrees in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, and regulatory affairs and quality assurance and lead innovations in pharmacy practice and science. We promote and preserve pharmacy and pharmacy-related professions by delivering excellence and opportunity through education, scholarship, research, and practice. Students benefit from the School's long-standing connections across the job marketplace as well as from the infrastructure of Temple University. In 2010, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching recognized Temple as one of only 99 public and private universities to merit the "Research Universities/High Research Activity" classification. Our research operations go far beyond the lab. Three biotech startups have emerged from the School and are positioned to change the course of medical treatment of major disease states.

During PREP Week, we honored five student pharmacists who are redefining what community-centered care looks like. Meet our 2026 Sam Maddula Scholars:

David Baidoo (PY3) โ€” leading health literacy outreach across North Philly and advocating for immigrant and international students
Jonathan Chan (PY3) โ€” trilingual in Cantonese, Mandarin & English, breaking down language barriers in healthcare
Matthew Galanaugh (PY3) โ€” Eagle Scout, SGA President, and champion for trauma-informed patient care
Julianne Le (PY4) โ€” leading stroke awareness & food access work in Philly's Vietnamese community
Andrew Rudenko (PY4) โ€” DELE C1 Spanish certified, rebuilding student pharmacy leadership from the ground up

The Sam Maddula Scholarship honors students who lead in service to underserved populations, just like the scholarship's namesake, Sam Maddula, PharmD. Their commitment reflects 125 years of Temple Pharmacy values in action.

Congratulations, Owls! ๐Ÿฆ‰๐Ÿ’™
