Established in 1901, the Temple University School of Pharmacy, carries more than a century’s worth of history and reliability in pharmacy education. Our programs, assets, and products support our ongoing s

uccess in creating opportunities to transform lives. The School provides opportunities to earn degrees in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, and regulatory affairs and quality assurance and lead innovations in pharmacy practice and science. We promote and preserve pharmacy and pharmacy-related professions by delivering excellence and opportunity through education, scholarship, research, and practice. Students benefit from the School's long-standing connections across the job marketplace as well as from the infrastructure of Temple University. In 2010, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching recognized Temple as one of only 99 public and private universities to merit the "Research Universities/High Research Activity" classification. Our research operations go far beyond the lab. Three biotech startups have emerged from the School and are positioned to change the course of medical treatment of major disease states.

Congratulations to Dr. Siham Yousef Al-Qaradawi, professor chemistry at Qatar University and former TUSP Fulbright Visiting Scholar, who was recently honored by the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, with the prestigious State Encouragement Award in Chemistry!

In 2010, Dr. Al-Qaradawi came to Temple University School of Pharmacy as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, working alongside Dr. Magid Abou-Gharbia and the team at the Moulder Center for Drug Discovery Research. Her time here deepened a partnership between our school and Qatar University that continues to this day.

.Through AMPATH, an international network of health centers dedicated to advancing health equity, Temple students and faculty are working side by side with healthcare educators, providers, and students from across the world on collaborative healthcare projects to improve patient care.

In Ghana, TUSP student Gabrielle Stuat worked with colleagues from Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and University for Development Studies in Tamale to build pharmacy training programs that actually reflect local realities, not just textbook ideals.

"I'm going to be a better pharmacist because of this program," said Gabi. "I'll be able to support my patients in a better way."

Congratulations to Gabi, Dr. Tina Tran, Dr. Zoe Maher, and all of the participants on this incredible work.

Last week we celebrated the conclusion of the Immigrant Health Education Training Series at our Honoring Partnerships in Immigrant Health reception.

The initiative, which kicked off in 2023, started with 14 community conversations and a landscape assessment of 50+ organizations serving immigrant populations in Philadelphia and grew into something remarkable: a Community Advisory Board of immigrant health community leaders, four education webinars co-designed with community voices, and 260+ healthcare providers, faculty, students, and staff trained on culturally responsive immigrant health care.

To every partner, advisor, and community leader who participated: thank you. Together we are building stronger, healthier, more inclusive communities for everyone in Philadelphia.
