This week, we are delighted to welcome back Dr. Doug Webber, Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and a dear former colleague.
He will be presenting his paper titled, "Local Labor Market Tightness and Job Quality: Evidence from Job Changers"
Using new data from the Fed's Survey of Household Economics and Decisionmaking, Dr. Webber's research shows that tight labor markets don't just raise pay. They also help workers move into better jobs with stronger benefits, more interesting work, and greater room for advancement. Looking at pay alone underestimates how much workers gain.
