đ Meet alumna Nia Thomas, a marketing specialist for the David Farber Aspire Center, an outpatient su***de prevention clinic focused on clinical care, innovation, research and education. In May, she graduated from Jeffersonâs MS in Organizational Leadership program.
Why did you decide to go back to school for your MSOL degree?
đ I wanted to build a career in brand management and understand the bigger picture of how successful organizations are structured and led. The program allowed me to combine my interests in business and marketing with leadership, organizational strategy and change management, giving me the skills to not only build strong brands but also make a meaningful impact within an organization.
How did the program prepare you for your current role?
đ§ It gave me a better understanding of organizational leadership, strategic planning and effective communication. In my position, I manage marketing initiatives, coordinate projects and collaborate with teams across the organization to support su***de prevention and community outreach efforts.
The program helped me think more strategically, improve my project management and leadership skills, and understand how marketing and brand management contribute to an organizationâs overall mission. It also strengthened my ability to lead initiatives, build relationships with stakeholders and guide projects from planning through ex*****on.
What were some of the best aspects of the program?
đ
The flexibility. The accelerated eight-week courses made it manageable to balance school with my full-time job, and I liked being able to customize my course schedule based on my areas of concentration. The program was also consistent, so I always knew what to expect each semester, which made it easier to stay organized and plan.
Most importantly, the faculty were attentive, responsive and genuinely invested in helping students succeed. They were always available to answer questions and provide support.
What would you say to a prospective student considering Jeffersonâs MSOL program?
đ Take a leap of faith and go for it. Donât let the accelerated eight-week courses scare you. Theyâre fast-paced but manageable if you stay organized and committed. Take advantage of the programâs flexibility and tailor your course schedule to fit your career goals and interests. The curriculum is practical, the faculty are supportive and responsive, and youâll gain leadership and strategic thinking skills that you can apply immediately in your career.
Whether youâre looking to grow in your current role or prepare for your next opportunity, the MSOL program provides a strong foundation to help you get there.
