The Race Dialogue Project at the University of Pennsylvania

The Race Dialogue Project at the University of Pennsylvania We want to explore how race affects society and share that awareness with the greater campus community.

The Race Dialogue Project is a grassroots student-run organization committed to fostering meaningful dialogue exploring issues of race and their impact on society. We provide a forum for issues of race which are often not discussed in order to deconstruct misunderstandings and stereotypes between groups and to promote interactions, the sharing of individual experiences, and critical examination of

the role of race in our everyday lives. We want to create a safe space where people can come together to talk about how issues of race affect them. The Race Dialogue Project is sponsored by the Greenfield Intercultural Center, located on 3708 Chestnut Street. We are also an affiliate of the United Minorities Council.

Further, the study has found that all three factors -- race/ethnicity, family income and parental education levels -- now predict one-third of the variance in SAT scores among otherwise similar students, up from a quarter in 1994. In other words, a larger share of SAT variance today than in 1994 may be predicted based on where and to whom a child is born."
