Temple's Occupational Therapy community had a lot to celebrate at the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association's (POTA) 50th Anniversary Conference!

Faculty and alumni shared their expertise through presentations on global citizenship, international service-learning, advocacy, and supporting families experiencing homelessness.

We’re especially proud to recognize:

👏 Dr. Amy Lynch, recipient of POTA’s Academic Educator of the Year Award

👏 Rebecca Stressman, recipient of POTA’s Fieldwork Educator of the Year Award

👏 Dr. Jeanne Coviello, POTA president, who delivered the presidential address

Temple was also a proud bronze sponsor of the conference, with second-year OT student Siena Tomasulo participating as a People Power volunteer.

Congratulations to everyone who represented Temple and continues to advance the field of occupational therapy!

Students and faculty from Temple’s American Sign Language Certificate program joined the Philadelphia Zoo for d/Deaf Community Day, helping create a more accessible day at the Zoo for d/Deaf, hard of hearing, DeafBlind and hearing guests.

From ASL-interpreted experiences to family-friendly crafts led by Temple students, the event brought communities together while giving students the opportunity to put their skills into practice beyond the classroom.

And this is just the beginning: The ASL Certificate program plans to continue its partnership as d/Deaf Community Day grows. ❤️
