The friendship Jillian Mele, ‘05, MBA ‘24, and Kristen Casey, ‘05, built at La Salle University has supported and guided them through their careers, including their newest joint venture, LemonRose Golf.

💬 “We want to create a community and we’re already laying the foundation, where women can feel like they have a place where they belong and they’ve got other women that they can either play with or talk to about their intimidations or frustrations, and overcome it together,” Jillian said. “So that is kind of the other half [besides apparel] of what we’re doing, that confidence and community portion.” 💬

Former Board of Trustee Chair Steve Zarrilli, ’83, and alumna Carol Zarrilli, ’83, are supporting Explorers through a generous $125K gift that will fund a new initiative in the School of Business.

The Zarrilli Leadership Program, beginning this fall, will be a first-year leadership experience designed to strengthen student engagement, assimilation to La Salle, and first-year retention. The program will focus on helping students develop leadership identity, confidence, and institutional belonging at a crucial time in their college career.

Wednesday, Sept. 2, is the Feast Day of Blessed Brother Solomon Le Clercq, FSC. Brother Solomon was martyred in 1792, during the French Revolution. He was the first Brother of the Christian Schools to be martyred, and the first to be beatified. Soon after his death, three more Brothers were martyred; they are recognized as the Blessed Martyrs of Rochefort. Sept. 2 marks the feast day of these three Brothers.

💬 “Having the instructor share their screen made it feel like everything was right in front of me, and I didn’t miss the in-person aspect at all,” Deron said. “I was so focused on learning that I barely noticed the difference. It still feels face-to-face, just through a screen.” 💬
