First days of back-to-school are officially in the books! New student orientation was a glorious week of exploring the city—Philly is our campus, after all! Picnic at Eakins Oval with majestic views of the Philadelphia Museum of Art Philadelphia Museum of Art followed by a tour around Center City including City Hall, another amazing architectural feature of our fine local landscape.

🧊 There were indoor ice-breaker activities too. Moore’s Great Hall was host to lots of get-to-know your fellow classmates games, and there can only be one Musical Chairs champion! 🪑 🏆

Warmest welcome to all of our new and returning students! We are grateful to have you in our community and look forward to another fabulous year at Moore College of Art & Design. And shout out to the student photographers who captured all of these exciting and memorable moments!

We officially marked the start of our academic year today at Fall Convocation! Thanks to everyone who attended and big shout out to our Keynote Speaker: Joi Washington ’08—Mayor of Media Borough, Pennsylvania—who shared her memories of Moore and inspired new students to learn and grow as they begin their own college journey/s.

Looking forward to a year full of creative exploration, innovative ideas, and most of all: exciting college-life vibes! Philly is our campus and there’s so much to see + do. Go to class, do your homework, but don’t forget to make (a lot of!) time to have a little fun!

And welcome back to our esteemed faculty! Your expertise, dedication and passion for creative thinking + making is what defines us. Moore is you and you are Moore.

Perfectly gorgeous weather on this beautiful August Friday as we welcome new students to campus! Move-in day is full of energy, nerves, joy, sadness, and so many other feels, but Moore is super excited to welcome everyone as they mark this monumental moment in their college journey!

Carrying those Blick Art Materials art kits is no joke and everyone is earning their fabulous first dinner on campus, provided by our amazing dining hall friends at SAGE at Moore College of Art. Tonight’s menu: A Taste of Philly!

We welcome students & families to join us on campus Sunday 9/13 for an exciting day of activities exploring the creative possibilities Moore’s BFA program has to offer! Tour studios, see classrooms, meet current students, get your portfolio reviewed, ask questions about college prep, ask about our majors + minors, and earn $2,000 when you enroll.

Final weeks to come see our craft-centric summer exhibitions presented in conjunction with “Handwork 2026,” an initiative created by Craft in America to celebrate the country’s 250th! Featuring work by alumni spanning generations and disciplines, the juried alumni biennial is made up of dynamic and colorful works that speak to Moore’s legacy as Philly’s number one school for art + design.

Also on view through 8/29, “Art Quilters Celebrate Independence” is made up of over 35 quilts that explore the broad meaning of freedom of expression. The exhibition highlights bold conceptual and technical departures from tradition, positioning the art quilt as a dynamic and evolving medium.

The Galleries at Moore are open Monday thru Saturday, 11am – 5pm and are free & open to the public! Many works available for purchase too!

Since 1921, Moore’s Young Artists Workshop (YAW) has inspired generations of artists to explore, create and dream big. Join one of Philadelphia’s longest-running weekend art programs for youth & teens and register for classes today!

Our fall session starts on October 3 and runs Saturdays through December 12, 2026. We’re offering classes in drawing, painting, animation, video game design, photography, fashion, film, comics & graphic novels, architecture & interior design, and we even have a creative writing course to help develop narrative concepts. And there’s so much more to discover. This 10-week session lets you learn from working professionals and explore new ideas, all while building your portfolio and making new friends!

Registration deadline is September 18.

BFA students interested in enrolling at Moore for Fall 2027 qualify for a $2,000 Campus Visit Award by completing a campus tour before May 1, 2027 as part of their application journey. Come to any on-campus event or schedule an appointment to meet with an admissions counselor and you’ll earn $2,000 towards your future when you enroll.

Our studios are buzzing, the walls are covered in student work, and the smell of paint and laser cutters are basically our official fragrance. Today we celebrated SADI with a Renaissance themed party featuring potion making, tarot card readings, Philly style food and a jousting tournament! Thanks our Moore staff who helped bring this all together. And all of our fearless jousters who joined the tourney!
