🎓 Rounding out National Transfer Student Week with our last student feature! Meet Yihang Sun, a Bioengineering student concentrating in Cellular Engineering who transferred from the Community College of Philadelphia to Temple Engineering. 🦉

Yihang chose Temple because of its diversity and R1 designation, eager to get involved with research. With support from a peer mentor, he landed an opportunity in a cancer research lab!

Knowing how it feels to come into a new place, being a transfer student has inspired Yihang to foster a supportive environment whenever he can. Through, helping classmates with assignments and giving peers compliments during group projects, he wants to help people feel connected.

Yihang advises future transfer students to connect with an advisor early and explore opportunities across Temple to build an academic path that reflects your interests.

🎓 Happy National Transfer Student Week! Meet Leo Kline, a Mechanical Engineering student who transferred from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown to Temple Engineering. 🦉

"As a transfer student, I have gained multiple drastically different college experiences worth more than the sum of their parts. I have learned how and where I thrive, giving me the knowledge to shape my studies how I learn best."

The desire to be closer to home and a diverse student body brought Leo to Temple. He felt welcomed from the jump, diving into engineering classes as well as exploring classes at in other Temple schools and colleges.

His advice to students? Connect with your professors, ask questions, and build relationships along the way!

🎓 Happy National Transfer Student Week! Meet Evan Blake Miller, a Mechanical Engineering student who transferred from Bucks County Community College to Temple Engineering. 🦉

Evan found the transfer process seamless, allowing him to jump right in to his classes at Temple and focus on what he loves most about mechanical engineering—applying math and design skills to create something real.

Now fully immersed in the engineering community, he's adjusted to a larger campus and earned a spot in Temple's accelerated master's program!

🎓 Happy National Transfer Student Week! Meet Alberto Ardila, a Mechanical Engineering student who transferred from Bucks County Community College to Temple Engineering. 🦉

For Alberto, his first semester transferring was tough, but dedicating his time to his coursework and studying, allowed him to thrive at the College of Engineering. Now, Alberto is especially enjoying his tech electives as he works towards his degree.

His advice for transfer students? Prepare for a difficult first semester, but after that, it becomes easier as you enjoy the Temple experience!

"My transition to Temple has been seamless. Having transferred before, I know how challenging switching schools can be, but Temple made the adjustment effortless. Between the connections I've made and the friends I've met, it quickly felt like the right fit"

Tyler initially found the adjustment to a larger campus tough, but he hit the ground running, engaging in clubs and building friendships, making Temple feel more personal.

Students can explore all that the College of Engineering's student organizations have to offer at Engineering Fest tomorrow in the College of Engineering lobby!

Our Alumni/Industry Partners & Student Mentoring Program has officially kicked off for the academic year!

Students and their mentors met either virtually or in-person to get to know each other and set goals for the year. The pairs will meet and check-in several times throughout the academic year, as mentors help our engineering students foster professional and personal development.
