Smaller groups. Bigger impact. πŸ‘₯πŸ‘₯

In AZTR, you'll learn alongside incredible supervising teachers like Mrs. Callisen from day one. πŸ™Œ

One resident favorite? Parallel Teaching β€” the class splits into two groups, and you and your supervising teacher each lead the same lesson, side by side.

Hear it straight from Mrs. Callisen. Real instruction. Real feedback. A mentor right there with you every step of the way. πŸ“πŸ‘‡

It's one of 6 co-teaching models that prepare you to walk into any classroom ready and confident. πŸ’ͺ

Two teachers. One classroom. Zero guessing. 🍎✨

In the first year of your master's degree teacher preparation program with AZTR, you won't be thrown into the deep end. You'll be paired with a supervising teacher, like Ms. Lyons, and learn by working side by side with her from day one.

One of the co-teaching models we use to get you ready is the "One Teach, One Assist".

It works because when a tough concept lands, someone is right there to catch the confused look before it turns into a lost student. As a teacher resident, you'll see how an experienced teacher runs a lesson while you support students in real time. Then you'll switch roles and take the lead yourself.

It's just one of 6 co-teaching models we use to build confident, classroom-ready teachers. πŸ’ͺ

Our first joint Supervising Teacher and AZTR Resident Forum of the year is in the books! πŸ™Œ They came together to dig into communication styles, shared goals, co-teaching models, and more. This focused time together helps build the kind of partnership that makes the apprenticeship year work.

This is what teacher prep should look like: real mentorship, real classroom experience, every step of the way.

In your first year as a teacher resident, you'll spend a full year side-by-side with an experienced supervising mentor teacher β€” learning and getting paid on the job while earning your master's degree, covered by ATA. No massive student debt. No sink-or-swim first year.

πŸ“‹ Applications are open now. Link in bio to apply, or visit aztr.org.

πŸŽ₯ Lights, camera, and DOK! 🎬

Our teacher residents are bringing serious game tape energy to the classroom. During read alouds, residents practice creating better questions using Depth of Knowledgeβ€” while a classmate films the whole thing.

Why? Because just like athletes reviewing game footage, our future teachers go back, watch the replay, and break down their own moves: Did that question spark deep thinking? Could it go higher up Bloom's? How did I engage students?

Thinking about becoming a teacher and wanting your master's degree tuition covered by ATA? πŸ’Έ

🧐 AZTR Residents flexed their engineering minds in class this Friday, tackling a hands-on Design Challenge that pushed them to think, build, and problem-solve like real engineers.

πŸ‘€ Curious what this looks like in action? Come see it for yourself! We invite prospective Teacher Residents to visit a live classroom and experience the energy, creativity, and hands-on learning that defines our program.

πŸ™Œ Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

Meet this year's winners of the AZTR Annual Marshmallow Challenge!

There's a reason that saying sticks around. Teaching looks like a one-person job from the outside. It's not. That's why it's so important to have a community around you while you are learning how to become one.

This is what "giving back" looks like. 🍎

Nikki started as an AZTR Resident, learning the ropes with a mentor teacher by her side. Now she is THAT mentor! She is guiding a new resident through her first apprenticeship year, the same way someone once helped her grow as a teacher.

That's what makes our program different: residents get real classroom support from day one, and many come back to pay it forward once they've found their footing. It's not just a program, it's a community that keeps investing in itself.

Welcome Fall Semester! πŸŽπŸ“š

This year will go by fast, don't blink! This semester, each teacher resident steps into a paid apprenticeship, guided by a Supervising Mentor Teacher, all while earning their master's degree, classroom by day, coursework by night.

Plus, they won't be doing it alone. A full cohort of classmates will be right there with them from day one to diploma.

You got this, Cohort 5!
