Thunderbird welcomed its Fall 2026 students to the F. Francis & Dionne Najafi Thunderbird Global Headquarters in Phoenix for the first day of Foundations, Thunderbird’s three-day orientation experience.

Day 1 brought students together to connect with classmates, faculty, alumni and the Thunderbird community while exploring the Thunderbird Mystique, building a global mindset and getting ready for the journey ahead.

For the Laine family, Thunderbird School of Global Management is more than a university—it is a legacy spanning generations. Anna Laine’s parents graduated from Thunderbird in 1993 after meeting through the Thunderbird community, her aunt later followed in their footsteps, and Anna has now become the family’s newest Thunderbird graduate. Even her sister and grandparents have been shaped by Thunderbird’s global values, friendships and welcoming community. With Anna’s mother returning as the convocation speaker at her daughter’s graduation, their journey comes full circle in a powerful story about how Thunderbird can shape careers, strengthen families and inspire a global mindset across generations.
