This distinguished national leadership role reflects her longstanding commitment to advancing pediatric health care, supporting children and families and strengthening the pediatric nurse practitioner profession. Melissa Vodicka found the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation was the strong foundation needed to build a thriving career.

After graduation, equipped with new leadership skills and deep clinical training, Melissa landed her dream job as a pediatric nurse practitioner.

"I've been a nurse since 2005," she says. "I decided to become a nurse practitioner because I loved working with children and most enjoyed the days I got to spend with patients."

A year after earning a Master of Science in nursing with a concentration in nursing education, Margaret was able to walk across the convocation stage and hear her name called.

Last week, Edson College was delighted to welcome back members of the Class of 1976 for their Golden Reunion, celebrating 50 years since they earned their degrees with us. 🎓

As part of the celebration, our Golden Grads toured the Grace Center for Innovation in Nursing Education, where they experienced firsthand the state-of-the-art technology and immersive learning environments preparing today’s nursing students for the future of health care. It was a meaningful opportunity to reflect on how ASU Nursing has grown over nearly 70 years — built on the dedication, compassion and leadership of alumni like them.

We were thrilled to have the chance to catch up, reminisce and celebrate 50 years of memories with our Golden Grads. Thank you for helping shape the legacy of Edson College and inspiring the next generation of nurses. 💛
