Our future nurses are preparing to put their skills to work! Edson College’s graduating prelicensure BSN students recently had the opportunity to meet with potential employers at a career expo designed to help them make connections and explore opportunities.

It's one example of how Edson College prepares graduates for the health care workforce, building a path from classroom to career.

Through the lens of Latino art, Edson College Assistant Professor Angel Algarin is working to help Latino men build skills to recognize and resist HIV-related stigma in themselves, their relationships and their communities.

The goal is to open conversations that make HIV education, care and treatment more accessible.

The number of Latinos who are diagnosed with HIV is on the rise in Arizona. But getting this population the education, care and treatment they need can be tough due to stigma. One ASU researcher aims to change that.

The Block Party with the Deans on ASU's West Valley campus brought Edson College students together with college leadership for a fun afternoon of conversation and connection.

Dean Judith Karshmer and Associate Director of Student Engagement Drew Koch met with students over games and activities, creating an opportunity for students to share their stories and meet Edson leaders invested in their success.

From extreme heat and wildfire smoke to medication, transportation and access to social support, climate-related changes can create additional challenges for older adults — particularly those living with chronic conditions or limited mobility.

Aaron Guest, gerontologist and assistant professor of aging at Edson College, recently joined the Aging Matters podcast to discuss how climate change intersects with the health and well-being of older adults.

He also discusses how health care providers can help older adults prepare for extreme weather and why healthy aging depends not only on individual health, but also on the homes, neighborhoods and communities where people live.

Edson College's innovative approach to developing nursing students has placed us among the top undergraduate nursing programs nationwide.

We're proud to rank No. 36 in the 2027 U.S. News and World Report — a four-spot increase from last year! This also places Edson College in the top 6% of nursing programs in the country.

This fall, 850 first-year students enrolled in Edson College. This growth is accompanied by more opportunities for students to engage with emerging health technology and additional flexible learning options.

This spring, we're opening a fourth location for our Learn Where You Live program located at Sage Memorial in Ganado on the Navajo Nation. This will be the first ASU undergraduate clinical nursing program offered on tribal lands.

Congratulations to Edson College Assistant Professor Angel Algarin, who recently received an R21 grant to investigate how Arizona can improve its HIV transmission-risk reporting data.

His team will analyze existing HIV surveillance data from the Arizona Department of Health and Human Services to identify individual, community-level and health care factors associated with missing transmission-risk collection.

Accurate data is important for understanding HIV and helping public health officials determine where prevention, care and other resources are most needed. As part of the research, Algarin and his team will develop solutions to help support HIV care in Arizona, which can eventually serve as a starting point for implementation in other states.

A night at the ballpark is always better with good company! ⚾️

Edson College students joined Dean Judy Karshmer and Associate Director of Student Engagement Drew Koch for ASU Night at the Diamondbacks, trading the classroom for the ballpark and spending time together cheering on the home team.

Moments like these give our students and leadership a chance to get to know each other in a different setting and strengthen the sense of community that makes Edson College feel like home away from home. 🔱
