Did you know that stress and anxiety impact your memory? 🧠

Stress and anxiety are two feelings commonly faced in our day-to-day lives. But what impact does that have on our memory? 👀 Anxiety is a state of heightened vigilance which leads to an increase in overall sensory sensitivity due to uncertainty or other stressful factors. A characteristic feature of anxiety is the limited control over worrying thoughts and greater focus on negative stimuli in your environment🙅🏽‍♂️

It has been shown in several studies that anxiety and stress have a direct impact on your cognitive functioning- specifically your working memory. Your working memory is a cognitive system with a limited capacity that can temporarily hold information. Working memory is essential for our reasoning and the guidance of decision-making and behavior🧠🌟

See how skipping your morning meditation on an important day could be a bad idea?

Check out this study we conducted on prenatal yoga intervention to prevent excessive gestational weight gain!✨

The findings demonstrated that prenatal yoga is highly regarded as a positive experience during pregnancy. In fact- prenatal yoga may be particularly helpful for relieving pain associated with pregnancy and may help women be more connected to their bodies🤰🏽

Prenatal yoga may also have important implications for weight management during pregnancy as it may help women become more self- aware and/or mindful of their health behaviors and provides an opportunity to increase their physical activity.

Did you know exercise can improve your energy levels? 🏃🏽🏃🏽

Contrary to popular belief, exercising doesn't make you tired! It actually creates energy in your body. Your body accepts the challenge for more energy by becoming stronger on a CELLULAR LEVEL! (Shoutout to our mitochondria🏋🏻‍♀️)

Just about any type of exercise will help to fight fatigue, but how long you do it, as well as how often, will also play a relevant part in its efficacy. It has been studied that if a sedimentary individual begins to exercise, they enhance the blood flow carrying oxygen and nutrients to your muscle tissue- therefore improving your ability to produce more adenosine triphosphate (ATP) aka ENERGY.
