Paradise Valley Community College

Located in NE Phoenix, PVCC is one of 10 colleges in the Maricopa County Community College District.

Founded in 1985, Paradise Valley Community College, one of the 10 Maricopa Community Colleges, has an annual enrollment of more than 14,195 students with an additional 6,000 students enrolled in non-credit and continuing education programs. The college offers transferable academic courses as well as job-specific occupational training. The Union Hills campus is located just west of SR101 at 18401 N

Alumni Spotlight: Cynthia Rojas Rangel

PVCC alumna Cynthia Rojas Rangel has been named a 2026 Outstanding Alumni Award recipient, recognizing her commitment to student advocacy, leadership, service and lifelong learning.

For Rojas Rangel, supporting students is deeply personal. A first-generation college student, Rojas Rangel understands firsthand the uncertainty many students experience while navigating higher education. She said those experiences inspired her passion for helping students feel supported, seen and connected throughout their college journey.

“It takes a village to raise a child, but it takes a community college to raise a graduate,” Rojas Rangel said, reflecting on the many mentors who shaped her experience at PVCC.

Rojas Rangel graduated from PVCC in 2021 with her associates in art, then from Northern Arizona University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Applied Human Behavior. She recently completed the Linda B. Rosenthal Mentor Program, continuing her growth as a mentor, leader and advocate for students. Rojas Rangel credits PVCC mentors including Ana Chandler-Magana, Ivette Quintero, Dynorah Harries, Mike Ho and Sheena Mata with helping guide her educational and professional path.

“My message to students is to seek out their village,” she said. “There is a community of amazing people who want to see them succeed.”

We are offering an EMT101/CPR class that is open to everyone next Saturday.

On June 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., students, staff, faculty, and the community can take this course and be prepared for an emergency. Attendees will leave equipped with CPR and AED skills to be used when it matters most.

Our Spring theatre show is one of adventure, smarts, and audience participation!

Everyone is invited out to "Princess Finds a Way", an interactive play that will have everyone in attendance on their toes. Princess Megan is told her father has planned a contest to determine who she will marry and take control of the kingdom. Intent on controlling her own destiny, Megan enters the contest disguised as a man, determined to win. With the help of her two wacky aunts and the children in the audience, she turns the tables on a cheating contestant with hilarious results.
