Rutgers Astronomical Society

Rutgers Astronomical Society The Rutgers Astronomical Society is a student-founded organization at Rutgers University that allows members to experience the wonders of the night sky!

Hello there, and welcome to Rutgers Astronomical Society! We host public [i.e. free] observations in Serin on the Busch campus at Rutgers University - New Brunswick ever 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Thursday of the month (weather permitting). Updates on the status of these observations as well as special occasions (like the solar eclipse we just had on August 21st eyyy) will be posted ON THIS PAGE as well as

through our EMAIL LISTSERV. You can join our listserv by either emailing the RAS email with the subject line: "Add me to listserv," or coming out to events and signing up! On these nights, anyone (I repeat: anyone, not just Rutgers students, but families, anyone in the area, and anyone at all who is interested) can come out to the Serin Physics & Astronomy Building and we will be up there showing you all the cool things in the place we live, named "The Universe." The Society also hosts occasional lectures during which a faculty member or Rutgers astronomy students may deliver a non-technical talk about some topic in astronomy, aimed at a general audience. The lectures are also free of charge and free food is served. Feel free to pose questions or discussion topics regarding astronomy in the group below, members of the club are encouraged to mingle and learn more about astronomy and physics through critical discussion! Guests are also encouraged to engage the Society's officers in discussion and questions about astronomy, astrophotography, Rutgers, or just student life in general! If y'all are shy, feel free to privately message us or email us with your questions :)
