Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine CABM, the Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine, was chartered in 1985 by the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology.

Its mission was to be a center of excellence to enhance research and training programs in the life sciences at Rutgers The Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine (CABM) was founded in 1985 and research started in 1986 to advance knowledge in the life sciences for the improvement of human health. CABM is jointly administered by Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and the University

of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Completed in 1990, the 100,000 square foot CABM building is centrally located on the Busch/Piscataway campus.
