One of our most loveable and dependable brothers ❤️ Here is Sukhmeet who majors in Finance and BAIT with a concentration in entrepreneurship! When asked about his summer internship, Sukemeet said

“This summer I worked as a Consulting intern at CrossCountry Consulting, a mid-sized consulting firm based in D.C., out of their NYC Office. During the summer I had the chance to work across multiple internal initiatives such as doing vendor research for our newly launched ESG service line and putting together a gap analysis between us and our competitors. Additionally, I got the chance to work on a client project where I was helping the firm conduct an IPO readiness assessment for a client in the healthcare industry where I got to sit in on client calls, create and compile findings, and put together different parts of our final report.

The most valuable lesson that I learned was the importance of asking questions and constantly learning in your role. When you start as an intern, or even in a Full-time role, you are not expected to know everything, but you must try your best to learn about it. By asking questions to your peers and your superiors, you show initiative and a drive to betting yourself which will get you extremely far in the professional world.

My favorite moment during my internship was the lunches I got to organize. During the summer, the interns in the NY office got the chance to cater food from different restaurants across the city as well as set up some games for the office to play during lunch. Through organizing these lunches, I got the chance to try a lot of different foods as well as get to learn a lot about everyone in the office which I found very rewarding.”

This summer our Brother Joanne had a blast applying her marketing and supply chain skills at Reckitt! With time for both individual projects and team collaboration here are some of her takeaways! 🤩

“This summer I interned at Reckitt as an eCommerce Hygiene intern under their Bricks & Clicks and Performance Marketing teams! For my project, I was tasked to find whitespace opportunities within last-mile delivery channels like DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Instacart. At the end of my internship, I presented test & learn proposals that’ll be launched by the end of this year for the most profitable accounts based on our sales data on the platform and their media capabilities.

Most valuable lesson? 💡
Make meaningful and genuine connections!
I learned a lot throughout my time at Reckitt but what made this experience so amazing was the people I met. I feel like not many interns can say they had their own crew, but I was grateful to have one with the interns I met at orientation, on my team, and on the hygiene floor. We’re able to ask for the most honest feedback on our individual projects but still be able to fool around and enjoy time together after work. Through them, I was able to meet their managers who offered more perspective on my project and also led me to other people who became my mentors.

Favorite moment? ❤️
Even though it was hectic, my favorite moment was presentation day. All of my friends and I were so nervous but the adrenaline rush really carried when it was time to present. Ironically, we were scheduled back-to-back so right before someone went, we’d be hyping each other up and giving pep talks and right after they were done, we’d meet on the fifth floor to congratulate each other and debrief until all of us were done. Right after, we went to the city to celebrate!

Our Vice President of Finance 💵Annie has finished up working at hedge fund this summer. With so much learned, here are her key takeaways! ✨

ValueAct Capital is a hedge fund focused on long only public equities investing, and as an activist hedge fund we sit on the boards of many of the companies we invest in to help these companies improve shareholder return. This summer I work on the Investment team to analyze the Cybersecurity industry and how it shapes the health of our current investment in the companies in this space as well. This includes a lot of industry research as well as financial analysis to project the growth of some of the Cybersecurity giants we see today.

Most valuable lesson?

The most valuable lesson I learned was how important it is to really know who you are working with. Don’t hesitate to ask people you’re working with to grab a cup of coffee, most important lessons I learned were from these conversations. One being before your next internship starts write a few things you expect to get out of it, and put it away. After you’re done with you internship write down what you actually got of it and compare to your original expectations. This will really help you decide if that internship is something you see doing in the long-term or if you need to make a change.

Favorite moment?

My favorite moment was just the level of interaction within the firm where I was able to have one on one conversations with the CEO, CIO, and partners. We would go out together to Friday lunches to take a break from work and I was even able to present my project to everyone at the firm at the end of my internship.

Meet our beloved Brother Enzo! He is a Finance and Marketing major who has been busy at Citi this summer. Here are some of his takeaways!

“I am doing investment banking at Citi Bank. The main tasks are updating pitches and files of numbers to use in client meetings if we want to encourage a client to buy, sell or merge.

The most valuable lesson is to use every moment you can to learn and make sure you are constantly improving. When you try and fail you can learn and grow quickly. In a fast-moving industry, it is crucial not to make the same mistake twice so attention to detail is a huge part of learning

The best moments are the random conversations with other interns in the middle of the night while you are all working. The conversations are so genuine and help make long hours more manageable.”
