Pittsburg State University Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing https://www.pittstate.edu/nursing/ The first baccalaureate graduates completed the program in May, 1973. The RN Completion program was begun in 1974.

The Department of Nursing was established in 1970, with the first class of 35 students admitted to the clinical program in the Fall of 1971. Initial accreditation by the National League of Nursing was granted in 1975. The Master's program in Family Nursing accepted its first students in 1993. What a special day for all the PSU School of Nursing graduates. A special thanks to Jenna Hooper for sharing how special our nursing students and alumni are. We “raise the best nurses!” ❤️💛🦍

Today’s pinning ceremony for 131 nurses — including 91 new nurses preparing to enter the workforce — was extra special. ❤️

Graduating senior Liv Golden was surprised by a patient and her family for whom Liv had provided care at Children’s Mercy in Kansas City; they were so appreciative of the ways in which she went above and beyond that they asked to be able to participate in the pinning ceremony to help celebrate Liv.

This emotional moment was a testimony to the skills, compassion, and impact that our nursing students and graduates bring to clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare providers on a daily basis.
