Panther Swim Club

Panther Swim Club We are Panther Swim Club at University of Pittsburgh. Whether you are a member, alumni, or a fan, we appreciate the like and the support.

Welcome to Pitt Club Swimming! We are a brand new award winning club that started out in the Fall of 2011. Many of us are former high school swimmers looking for a way to get back into the sport we love to hate, while others simply want a good workout. Thank you for your support. If you are a Pitt student, we encourage you to try out a few practices to see what you think! Our club is fairly new, f

ounded 2011, but we have had great successes so far. We are now one of the larger sports clubs at Pitt. We compete in a few meets a semester, almost always being one of the top three teams. We travel to other universities at least once a semester and hold a meet ourselves at least once a year. We welcome anyone that would like to join our team. Our team has a wide range of skill. Some members traveled to nationals in their high school careers. Some members have never swam competitively before. We accommodate everyone, and everyone is allowed to compete at the meets. In addition to the exercise part of the club, we also like to focus on social and volunteer activities. We have pasta parties, Market (the larger dinning hall on campus) dinners, and other fun events to get to know our teammates outside of the pool. We also help with varsity, high school, and charity meets that the pool hosts. Practice Times for the 2017-2018 School Year:
Monday: 9:00 - 10:30 p.m. (Trees Hall, big pool)
Tuesday: 9:00 - 10:30 p.m. (Trees Hall, big pool)
Wednesday: 9:00 - 10:30 p.m. (Trees Hall, big pool)
Thursday: 9:00 - 10:30 p.m. (Trees Hall, big pool)

Hey all!
As some of you may know, Pitt and other state-related universities have a very real possibility of losing state funding in the immediate future. Pitt alone receives about $150 million from the state and without that in the budget, Pitt will have to reevaluate their budget therefore impacting tuition for Spring 2018 drastically along with other day to day operations that we take for granted. Legislators returned to Harrisburg on Monday, October 16th, to determine the budget. That’s why we need everyone to take 30 seconds out of their day to send an email through this link http://with.pitt.edu/ to your lawmakers to let them know that “With Pitt, Pennsylvania Wins"

The legislature is threatening to withhold all state funding for Pitt. Let them know what Pitt means to you because , .

We had a very successful weekend at Georgia Tech with Collegiate Club Swimming Nationals! A few team records were broken! One of our swimmers, Andrew, even placed 4th in 50 breast. Thank you to everyone who has supported us on our journey beginning this past September. We are already looking forward to going next year (hopefully our flights won't get cancelled). Best of luck to our seniors graduating!!
