Today, several of our PhD students took the mic - and their posters - to Posvar Hall for PhD Milestone Day, presenting their research to faculty, staff, and peers. This constructive environment provides members of our community the opportunity to provide students with feedback and celebrate their work.

We can't wait to see their work continue to progress and look ahead to the defenses still to come!

This week, Renée and Richard Goldman Dean Eboni Zamani-Gallaher took part in a panel focused on innovative collaborations in career education during the 2026 Institute of Politics Regional Progress Forum.

The School of Education has been expanding transfer pathways that help community college students move smoothly into four-year programs, and Dean Zamani-Gallaher's contributions to the panel reflect that same commitment to opening doors across the region. Thanks to those who attended our Fall Welcome Back Party at the Posvar Hall Outdoor Patio! Our students, faculty, staff and their friends and family gathered (and braved a brief flash of rain) to celebrate the new term. We look forward to another year of igniting learning, community, and scholarship.

Last week, we celebrated a decade of impact by Justice Scholars Institute, a college preparation and academic enrichment program housed at the School of Education in partnership with Pittsburgh Public Schools. Alumni and supporters alike gathered at the Dollar Bank Rooftop Lounge in Downtown Pittsburgh to mark this milestone, culminating in a short documentary film about the program.
