Nearly 30 years after earning her doctorate at Pitt Education, alumna Yidan Wang (PhD ’96, Administrative & Policy Studies) is still advocating for literacy on a global scale. As a jury member for the UNESCO International Literacy Prizes, she helps shine a light and provide life-changing funding for innovative programs around the world that are tackling everything from basic literacy access to digital-age skills.

This week, we welcomed our latest cohort of educators for new student orientation. More than 116 years in, our mission remains the same: improving the world through education. Students spent the morning learning about important resources available to them and explored school and campus landmarks as part of the "EdVenture" photo scavenger hunt.

Thanks to all of the students who spent the day with us, and thanks to our hardworking faculty and staff for making their experience seamless.
