On behalf of the Duquesne University School of Law Student Bar Association and the Animal Law Society, we are pleased to announce the Annual Katie Westbrook 5K & Dog Walk, on our beautiful Duquesne University campus. We dedicate this race in memory of Katie Westbrook, whose dream at age 13 was to become a lawyer. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer, which took he
r life at the age of 15, just before she was to receive an honorary degree from Duquesne University School of Law. Although Katie was never able to fulfill her dream of becoming an attorney, we honor her memory and her commitment to the profession through the Public Interest Law Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to current law students and helps them realize their dreams of becoming attorneys. Additionally, proceeds from the pet-themed raffle will go towards Pittsburgh's Humane Animal rescue and Wildlife Center. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eezpADfkA3U
